Pitch N Hire Resume Intake β€” Gmail & Outlook Inbox

Yes. Pitch N Hire's Resume Intake connects a dedicated Gmail or Outlook inbox and automatically parses resume attachments into your Talent Pool. Access is read-only β€” Pitch N Hire reads resume attachments and never modifies your mailbox. Periodic scanning runs in the background, and a Scan now action pulls anything waiting immediately.

Most teams already have a careers@ or jobs@ address collecting resumes that nobody has time to key in. Resume Intake points Pitch N Hire at that inbox and turns its attachments into candidate records automatically. This page covers the access it takes, the scanning controls, and what to check when imports stop.

What is Resume Intake?

It is a connection to a dedicated mailbox whose only job is supplying resumes. You connect a Gmail or Outlook inbox in the Resume Intake section of Settings β†’ Integrations, and Pitch N Hire reads the resume attachments arriving there and parses them into your Talent Pool. It is a separate section from Email and Calendars, with a separate purpose and a separate permission.

What access does Pitch N Hire get to the inbox?

Read-only, and the confirmation dialog states so before you authorize: Pitch N Hire only reads resume attachments and never modifies your mailbox. Nothing is sent, deleted, marked or moved. That matters when the inbox is a shared company address, because connecting it cannot change what anyone else sees in it.

How often does the inbox get scanned?

Automatic scanning runs periodically once connected, and the card records when it last synced so you can tell whether the connection is actually working. You can pause scanning with the same toggle without disconnecting, and Scan now triggers an immediate pass β€” after which you are told how many resumes were queued and how many were skipped, rather than left to guess.

What happens to a parsed resume?

It lands in your Talent Pool as a candidate record, following the same parsing behaviour as a resume you upload by hand through Resume Import and Parsing. That consistency matters: candidates arriving by inbox are not a second-class record with different fields, they are the same structured profiles you would get from a manual PDF upload.

Why would resumes stop importing?

Two causes account for nearly all of it. Automatic scanning may have been paused, in which case nothing is wrong beyond a switched-off toggle. Or the inbox hit an error, which the card shows in red β€” usually revoked authorization on the provider side. Re-enable scanning or run Scan now first; disconnect and reconnect the inbox only if the error persists.

Who can set up Resume Intake?

It needs the resume-intake permission. Admins and owners always have it, so if the section is missing for a recruiter it is a permissions question rather than a plan or setup one. Like the Job Portals section, an absent section looks identical to an unavailable feature, so check access before troubleshooting anything else.

How to set it up

  1. 1 Go to Settings β†’ Integrations in Pitch N Hire and find the Resume Intake section. It requires the resume-intake permission β€” admins and owners always have it.
  2. 2 Choose Gmail or Outlook and click Connect. The confirmation dialog states that access is read-only.
  3. 3 Authorize the inbox with the provider. The card then shows the mailbox address and a Connected badge.
  4. 4 Leave Automatic scanning on for periodic scans, or use Scan now to pull waiting resumes immediately β€” you will see how many were queued and how many were skipped.

One platform, fewer integrations to maintain

FAQ

Resume Intake integration β€” FAQs

Can Pitch N Hire read or change the rest of my email? +
Access is read-only and its purpose is resume attachments. Pitch N Hire never modifies your mailbox β€” nothing is sent, deleted or moved.
Where do parsed resumes end up? +
In your Talent Pool. They follow the same parsing behaviour as Resume Import and Parsing, so the extracted fields match those from resumes you upload manually.
Can I pause resume intake without disconnecting? +
Yes. Turn off Automatic scanning on the card. The connection stays in place, the card still shows when it last synced, and you can resume scanning or run Scan now at any time.
Resumes have stopped importing β€” what should I check? +
First whether Automatic scanning is paused, then whether the card is showing an error in red. Re-enable scanning or use Scan now; if the error persists, disconnect and reconnect the inbox.
Is Resume Intake the same as connecting Gmail for email? +
No, and it is worth keeping them apart. The Email and Calendars connection is for sending candidate email and syncing your calendar. Resume Intake is a separate, read-only connection to a dedicated inbox whose only job is pulling resume attachments into the Talent Pool.
