“Choose categories” opens the same preferences dialog as the banner, where you can accept one category and decline the other. Declining is exactly as easy as accepting, and dismissing the banner is never read as consent.

The three strictly necessary entries are kept in your own browser storage rather than sent to a server. Everything in the analytics and advertising categories is set by a third party, and only after you have accepted that category.

Third-party lifetimes are the vendor’s published defaults and can change without notice to us. Withdrawing consent stops those tags loading on your next page view and clears the first-party copies we can reach, but a cookie already set on a microsoft.com or google.com domain can only be removed by your browser.
