Pitch N Hire + Checkr Integration

Yes. Pitch N Hire connects to Checkr so a background check is ordered against a candidate who is already in your pipeline, rather than in a separate portal with a spreadsheet tracking who was sent what. The request and its status sit on the candidate the recruiter is already working, at the stage in the process where screening belongs.

Background screening is the point where a hiring process most often stalls without anyone noticing: the check was ordered, or it was not, and nobody is sure. This page covers where the Checkr connection sits in a Pitch N Hire pipeline, what a recruiter can see while a check is running, and the rules a team has to confirm for itself.

What does the Checkr integration do?

It moves background screening onto the candidate record. Instead of opening a separate screening portal, re-entering a name and an email address, and then keeping a list of who has been sent what, the request is raised from the candidate you are already looking at in Pitch N Hire. The status of that request comes back to the same place, so the person coordinating the hire can see where screening stands without asking anyone.

At what stage should a background check be ordered?

Most teams place it after an offer has been made and before onboarding begins, which is late enough that the check is only run on someone you intend to hire and early enough that a problem surfaces before a start date is promised. Where exactly it sits is a decision for your team and the role, and it is constrained by rules that vary by country and by state. Set the stage deliberately in your pipeline rather than letting it happen whenever someone remembers.

Can a recruiter see the status of a check in progress?

That visibility is the main reason to connect the two systems at all. A check moves through states, requested, under way, returned, and while it is under way the recruiter and the coordinator need the same answer to the same question: has this started, and is anything waiting on us? Holding that on the candidate record means nobody has to log into a screening tool to find out, and a stalled request is visible rather than discovered when the start date arrives.

What can lawfully be checked, and when?

This is the part to get advice on rather than guess at. What may be checked, what a candidate has to be told beforehand, how consent is captured, and what happens if something is found all differ by country and often by state, and can differ again by role or industry. Nothing in Pitch N Hire decides that for you: the platform carries the request and its status. Confirm the rules that apply where you hire, and where the candidate is, before you set your screening policy.

Who in the team should be able to order or see a check?

Fewer people than can see the rest of the pipeline. A screening request and its outcome are among the most sensitive things attached to a candidate, and access to them should follow your role-based permissions rather than being open to everyone working the role. Decide who may raise a request, who may read the result, and what a hiring manager is told, which is usually whether the process may continue, not the underlying detail.

How to set it up

  1. 1 From Pitch N Hire, open Settings and find the Integrations section.
  2. 2 Find Checkr and authorise the connection with the account your team uses for screening.
  3. 3 Agree internally which pipeline stage triggers a check and who is permitted to raise one.
  4. 4 Run a check against a test candidate and confirm the request and its status appear on that candidate's record.

FAQ

Checkr integration β€” FAQs

Where does a background check fit in the hiring process?
Commonly after an offer and before onboarding, so a check is only run on someone you intend to hire. The right point for your team depends on the role, the market you hire in, and your own policy. Set it deliberately as a pipeline stage rather than leaving it to memory.
Does Pitch N Hire tell me what I am allowed to check?
No, and it should not. What may be screened, what a candidate must be told, and how consent is recorded differ by country and by state, and sometimes by role. Confirm the rules that apply where you hire before setting a screening policy, and take advice where you are unsure.
Can I see whether a check has come back?
Yes. Status stays on the candidate record alongside the rest of their history, so the recruiter and the coordinator are reading the same thing. That is the practical gain over a separate portal: nobody has to log in elsewhere to answer whether screening has started or finished.
Who on my team can order a check?
Whoever your permissions allow. Screening data is sensitive, so restrict raising a request and reading a result to the people who genuinely need them, and give hiring managers the decision rather than the detail. Availability of specific integrations can depend on your plan, so check your account's integration settings to confirm what's enabled.
