Best AI Sourcing Tools
AI sourcing tools search beyond your own applicants: they index public professional data, rank people against a role, and often draft the outreach. They address the top of the funnel, which is a different problem from the applicant tracking system that manages people once they respond. Most teams need both.
Last updated
Sourcing tools earn their cost only when your problem is genuinely a shortage of qualified people entering the pipeline. If your real problem is slow screening, a scheduling bottleneck or candidates dropping out mid-process, more sourcing makes it worse rather than better. Diagnose the funnel stage that is actually failing before you buy anything in this category.
How this list was put together
This page is published by Pitch N Hire, which sells an applicant tracking system and therefore competes with the products below. So it is not a ranking: there is no score, no rating and no number one. Options are grouped by who they suit, drawn from our own product comparisons, and each links to the full comparison so you can read the trade-offs rather than take a verdict on trust. Pricing changes constantly and is usually negotiated, so none is quoted here β get a written quote for your seat count.
What to evaluate before you shortlist
Deciding the criteria before you look at vendors is what stops a demo deciding for you.
-
Is your bottleneck actually at the top of the funnel?
Measure it before you buy. If you have enough applicants but cannot screen them fast enough, a sourcing tool adds volume to a queue that is already backed up. The honest test is your own stage-conversion data: where do candidates actually stop? -
Where does the underlying data come from?
Every tool in this category is only as good as the data it indexes, and coverage varies enormously by geography and by function. Ask specifically about the markets and role types you hire for, and test with real searches you have already run by hand. -
How does it handle bias and explainability?
Any system that ranks people needs to be explainable to you and defensible to a regulator. Ask what signals drive a match, whether you can inspect them, and what the vendor does about proxies for protected characteristics. Regulation here is expanding and jurisdiction-specific. -
Does it write to your ATS, or create a second database?
A sourcing tool that does not push cleanly into your pipeline produces a parallel candidate list that immediately goes stale. Check the integration direction, what fields carry across, and what happens to a sourced candidate who later applies on their own.

means that value is not published in our comparison for that product. It is left blank rather than guessed. Pitch N Hire is not a row in this table: we publish this page, so putting our own product in it would not tell you anything you could check. The free 1-user plan is there to test instead.
The options, and who each one suits
Gem
Best for In-house teams that want sourcing, outreach sequences and pipeline analytics in one layer over an existing ATS
hireEZ
Best for Recruiters whose main job is finding and engaging passive candidates rather than processing inbound applications
Eightfold
Best for Large organisations that also want to surface internal candidates and adjacent skills, not just external hires
Phenom
Best for Enterprises treating candidate experience, careers site and internal mobility as one connected programme
Turing
Best for Teams that want vetted technical talent supplied to them rather than a tool to do their own sourcing
Pitch N Hire
Published by us
Best for teams that want job posting, screening, structured interview scorecards and analytics in one pipeline, with a free plan for one user to test it on a real role
We are not going to rank ourselves against the products above. The useful thing we can offer instead is a free 1-user plan with no credit card, so you can run one real requisition end to end and judge it against your own process rather than against a feature table.
- Free β 1 user, no credit card
- Startup β $5 / user / month Β· up to 5 users
- Pro Plan β $10 / user / month Β· up to 10 users
These are our own list prices, read from our billing system. We do not print the other products' prices here: published per-seat pricing changes often and a stale figure would be worse than none, so check each vendor's own pricing page for a current number.
