Zoho People is the HR platform inside the wider Zoho suite, sold internationally rather than only in India. Its own pages describe an employee database and Core HR, leave and time-off, attendance, timesheets, onboarding with e-signed offer letters, performance and compensation, a learning management system, an HR helpdesk with agents and service levels, engagement surveys, analytics, workflow automation and native iOS and Android apps. Two things it does not include are payroll and recruiting: Zoho Payroll and Zoho Recruit are separate Zoho products that Zoho People integrates with. Plans run from a free edition through named paid tiers billed per user, monthly or yearly, with a trial on the paid plans. Pitch N Hire is a single-purpose recruiting product — applicant tracking, async AI video interviews through Intuvos and sourcing through OnJob.io — so the comparison is really about how many products you end up assembling.

| Feature | Pitch N Hire | Zoho People |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Employers who want one strong hiring product rather than a hiring module | Teams standardising HR administration on Zoho, often alongside other Zoho applications |
| What the product covers | Sourcing, applicant tracking, async AI interviews, structured evaluation | Employee records, leave, attendance, timesheets, onboarding, performance, learning, HR helpdesk, surveys |
| Recruiting | The whole product | Handled by Zoho Recruit, a separate Zoho product rather than part of Zoho People |
| Payroll | Not offered — Pitch N Hire is not an HRMS | Handled by Zoho Payroll, a separate Zoho product that integrates with Zoho People |
| Pricing model | Per-seat and per-job tiers with a free single-user plan | Per-user plans on monthly or yearly billing, with named tiers from a free edition upward |
| Free option | Yes — one user free forever | A free edition alongside paid tiers, plus a trial that returns to the free edition when it ends |
| AI interviewing | Native async AI video interviews with structured scoring through Intuvos | Not part of Zoho People; its recruiting capability lives in a separate product |
| Learning and helpdesk | Not applicable | A learning management system and an HR helpdesk with dedicated agents and service-level handling |
| Ecosystem | Sourcing and AI interviewing are first-party; core HRIS and job-board integrations connect outward | Connects across Zoho Payroll, Zoho Recruit, Zoho Sign and Zoho Expense, plus Microsoft, Google and Zapier |
| Geographic scope | India-based, serving customers globally | Sold internationally rather than as an India-only platform |
| Target company size | Startups to mid-market, India and global | Small business through mid-market, especially teams already using Zoho |
The most common mistake in this comparison is assuming that Zoho People does hiring. It does onboarding, including offer letters with e-signature, which reads like hiring from the outside, but the recruiting product in Zoho's catalogue is Zoho Recruit and it is bought separately. Zoho People's own pages describe the relationship as an integration, and the same is true of payroll, which is Zoho Payroll. That is a coherent design for a vendor with a broad catalogue, but it means the shortlist you think you are building is not the one you are actually pricing.
Pitch N Hire is the opposite shape. It has no employee database, no leave policy, no timesheet, no learning management system and no HR helpdesk, and it makes no attempt at any of them. What it does have is the full hiring path in one place: sourcing through OnJob.io, applicant tracking, async AI video interviews through Intuvos and structured scoring on every one of them. If you are comparing these two because you want to hire better, you are really comparing a single-purpose product with an administration platform that will send you to a second product for the thing you came for.
Per-user pricing looks simple until you count how many products the outcome requires. A company that wants records, hiring and payroll from Zoho is looking at Zoho People plus Zoho Recruit plus Zoho Payroll, each priced on its own terms. The upside is real: they share a vendor, a login pattern and integrations, and for a team already committed to Zoho that coherence is worth paying for. The downside is that the total is not the number on the first pricing page you opened, and each product's tiers move independently.
The alternative shape is to pick each layer on merit. Pitch N Hire prices recruiting through per-seat and per-job tiers with a free single-user plan, so the cost follows how much hiring you are doing rather than how many employees you have, and it sits alongside any HR platform you have already standardised on. Neither route is automatically cheaper, and anyone claiming otherwise without your headcount and your number of open roles is guessing. Get a current quote for every subscription in each scenario, including the HR platform you will still need if you choose the specialist route, then compare the totals rather than the headlines.
Choose Zoho People if you need HR administration — records, leave, attendance, timesheets, onboarding, performance, learning and an HR helpdesk — and especially if you already run other Zoho applications, since the ecosystem is most of the value. Choose Pitch N Hire if the job is hiring and you would rather have one recruiting product with async AI video interviews and sourcing included than assemble the same outcome from separate subscriptions. The decision most buyers get wrong here is assuming Zoho People is an ATS; it is not, and Zoho Recruit is the product to compare on that basis. For hiring specifically the two are complementary, and a company can reasonably run Zoho People for administration and Pitch N Hire for recruiting.
